Hello everyone! I’m Rachel and I have been working with animals since 2002 in grooming salons and as a veterinary assistant and surgery technician assistant. I started off at PetSmart as a bather, then went on to work at a cat hospital when I turned 18. That’s where I learned to groom cats and I got my first experience as a veterinary assistant. Then I worked at a couple different animal hospitals until I found a company I loved at Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center where I was a surgery technician assistant. After working there for about 2 years I realized my love for grooming was a better option for me and decided to go back to school. I went through Petco’s grooming academy where I received my certificate in dog grooming. I also went to Heald for Business Administration with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship. I found true happiness when I started mobile grooming. I love the one on one pampering experience I get to give the pets in a calm and loving environment. With my veterinary experience I am able to handle all types of animal personalities and health conditions. I have even been able to spot early signs of cancer or other health issues the pet parents might not be aware of, or offer educated advice for your furry loved ones. I have had animals since I was a child like fish, parakeets, hamsters, rats, rabbits, snakes, frogs, cats and dogs. In high school I was in the FFA (Future Farmers of America), where I raised 2 pigs and two heifers. Today I have a rescue lab/pit mix named Moose, a munchkin/Persian/British short haired cat named Squirrel, and a chameleon named Yoshi. When I’m not grooming, I am spending time playing with my son, or working on my garden, or spending the day at the beach. I have a huge passion for what I do and your pets will look and feel their best at Rush Rover!
